Proper archival procedures enable safe and effective management of collections, yet as often is the case in many institutions, you may find yourself in the position of “archivist” without formal training in the profession.

This online workshop is designed to equip you with the fundamentals of archival appraisal, acquisition, and access; proper storage materials; and an understanding of the most common preservation problems found with paper-based archival collections. The workshop will touch briefly on processing, arrangement, and description of collection objects.

This online workshop is offered in partnership and is delivered by The Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts

Founded in 1977, CCAHA is a regional conservation center with a Conservation team who treat works of art on paper, archival documents, rare books, and photgraphic materials. Through surveys and consultations, the Preservation Services team provides recommendations and guidance for preservation planning, risk assessment and emergency planning, core policy development, collections, storage, and more for all kinds of collection materials.

Date and Time: Thursday, November 20 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Location: Online. A zoom link will be sent out prior to the workshop.
